What is LipiFlow?
LipiFlow is a thermal pulsation device used for meibomian gland dysfunction. It applies heat to the inner eyelid surface while gently massaging the outer eyelids.
How it works
Single-use applicators are placed over and under the eyelids. A treatment session warms and expresses the glands under clinician supervision.
Risks and limitations
- • Temporary discomfort, redness, irritation, or blurred vision may occur
- • It cannot restore glands that have already significantly atrophied
